Highlights of the Journey by Lisa Feinman

I have been in Poland for almost 3 days and have already walked many miles around Warsaw, tasted some delicious traditional fare, met dozens of inspiring teachers, and visited museums, historical sites, and a death camp. It is a lot to take in and process and there are many more days ahead.

Here are some highlights of the start of our journey.

Day 0.1: Sarasota meets Cleveland delegation at the airport in Boston.

Day 0.2: Celebrating the Summer Solstice in Warsaw

Day 1: The beautiful Polin Museum and a trip to the Zoo.

Day 2 &3: Burials, Tombs, and Monuments. From the Jewish Cemetary to the resting place of the fallen ghetto fighters, to the ashes at Treblinka; we saw, we honored, we mourned.

While my mind had known these events occurred and that they were terrible, now my feet and eyes and heart know it, too. Tomorrow, they will be opened even wider. Imagine what they will feel and know a week from now.
